Technology Elective Courses Years 9-10

In Years 9 and 10, the Technology Faculty offers a diverse range of elective courses designed to deepen student engagement and extend their skills in applied and digital technologies.

Industrial Technology

This practical subject is offered in three distinct streams聽Electronics, Engineering, and 惭耻濒迟颈尘别诲颈补听each with a focus on project-based learning tailored to the discipline:

  • Electronics: Students design and construct a range of electronic circuits, learning how to manipulate components to achieve functional outcomes. This stream provides a hands-on introduction to the principles of electronic systems.

  • Engineering: Projects in this stream are selected to demonstrate key engineering concepts through the use of various materials and technologies. In addition to practical work, students engage with detailed engineering theory, making this course ideal for those considering a future in engineering. It also forms a foundational part of our Engineering Continuum.

  • Multimedia: Students explore a wide range of multimedia concepts through creative digital projects. Using industry-standard software such as Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and Premiere Pro, they develop skills in digital imaging, video production, and graphic design.

Graphics Technology

Graphics Technology explores technical illustration and drawing across the fields of engineering, architecture, and graphic design.

Students gain experience in both traditional pencil drawing and digital design, using Fusion 360 as the primary Computer-Aided Design (CAD) software.

This course offers a comprehensive introduction to visual communication and design thinking.
