Science and Engineering Challenge
The Science and Engineering Challenge is a national STEM outreach program conducted by the University of Newcastle. It is designed to inspire Year 10 students to explore careers in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics through hands-on, real-world problem solving.
Each year, a team of 蜜桃影院 students participates in this full-day event, competing in a variety of engineering-themed challenges. These challenges are designed to:
Encourage creativity, collaboration, and critical thinking
Highlight trade-offs between cost, function, and design
Showcase the real-world application of scientific and mathematical principles
Students work in small teams to complete a range of engaging activities, such as:
Building model bridges, hovercrafts, and catapults
Designing efficient power distribution networks
Creating earthquake-resistant towers
Developing sustainable housing solutions
The challenge promotes teamwork, innovation, and strategic thinking under pressure. Participation gives students a valuable insight into STEM disciplines and strengthens their problem-solving and communication skills.
Sydney Tech is proud to support this initiative each year and continues to be recognised as a strong and enthusiastic contributor to the program.
